After this rather brutal first contact, the Space Apes are trying to make some sense out of what happened to their ancestors, and the relation between humankind and the natural world (good luck to them on that....).
They have kidnapped a zoologist (they could have just asked him to come along, I'm sure he'd have said yes to such a unique proposition in his field of study !).
The local Congolese drug-lord militia of Colonel Mbungo don't care a monkeys (ha ha) about the zoologist, but they are peeved about being shot to pieces in the last encounter. They intercept the Space Simians on the outskirts of a small town, as they bring the hapless scientist to their droid ship.
It was yet another fantastic game of Black Ops, with the usual blend of heroic moments and dastardly deeds. My Congolese infiltrated the warehouse, then opened the doors into a hail of fire. Mbungo's right hand man, Joseph, shone in this moment of doubt, taking out an ape-man, dove from one vehicle to behind another, and shot a second one (the extraterrestrials are really hard to kill, so this was a major exploit).
The team with the scientist were forced to change direction and slink along the east edge of the building, where they were followed by two technicals full of hyped up Africans (this really was a crazy game !).
It looked like the zoologist would make it to the waiting spaceship, but a sniper took an ape-man out and it was all over, a Congolese victory by the skin of their teeth. The usual heavy losses, but no need to worry about that, plenty more where they came from...
As it turned out, the zoologist must have taken to his kidnappers, and given them some valuable information during his extraction, because the strategic victory went to the Space Apes in the post-game die roll ! Pierre has now amassed 3 campaign points and I still have none ! Colonel Mbungo is not, however, the sort of man to accept defeat, and now he has a militarily insignificant zoologist suffering with Stockholm syndrome on his side, feels invincible.
