Welcome / Bienvenu

This blog drags together, into one swirling maelstrom of crackling energy, my various wargames interests. There are links on the top right to my other blogs, each more calmly dedicated to one particular gaming universe.

I post on Fridays. The idea is that when I post a painted figure, it stays up for two weeks; a battle report, a terrain project, or a few lines on whatever happens to be the whim of the moment, is up for a week.

The pages at the top of the blog contain historical information on the periods that interest me. They are primarily an aid to my poor memory, and not meant to be in any way exhaustive, nor necessarily correct.

I hope this blog offers you much enjoyment and some inspiration !

Post Apocalyse

You can learn more about all these fellows here, in the sections "Les Vivants" and "Les Non-Vivants".

Human nature has pushed the Day of Reckoning so far back that when God finally gives in and calls it, the Judgement Day Courts cannot deal with the billions and billions of Dead that have arisen.  The world is overrun by living dead, patiently waiting their turn for their hearing and a ticket to Paradise or to Hell.  The Living are having to deal with the psychological shock of realising God does exist, and the fact that some of their recent ancestors are rotting away in their living room.

Things needn't have gone totally pear-shaped if certain religious fanatics hadn't taken this holy mess-up to be the work of the Antechrist.  They started attacking the Living Dead, forcing God to send in the Airborne Angels.  It was during a raid on Paris that the Archangel Gabriel was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.

His brilliant rival blown to pieces, Lucifer was now able to dominate the Judgement Court floor.  He has managed to prove (pending appeal) that the Dead cannot be judged for any sins committed after their demise.  This has opened all sorts of interesting possibilities for certain twisted minds, and suffice to say things have gone somewhat downhill since...

My campaign focuses on events in a small town in France, Vaires-sur-Marne, which happens to be where my local club meets up.  Any ressemblance of certain figures to known French wargamers is totally intentional !
