Welcome / Bienvenu

This blog drags together, into one swirling maelstrom of crackling energy, my various wargames interests. There are links on the top right to my other blogs, each more calmly dedicated to one particular gaming universe.

I post on Fridays. The idea is that when I post a painted figure, it stays up for two weeks; a battle report, a terrain project, or a few lines on whatever happens to be the whim of the moment, is up for a week.

The pages at the top of the blog contain historical information on the periods that interest me. They are primarily an aid to my poor memory, and not meant to be in any way exhaustive, nor necessarily correct.

I hope this blog offers you much enjoyment and some inspiration !

Kina the Steel Fan

I'd been looking at Signum Games for a long time, but was put off by the size of the figures, basically they were 35mm, way too big to be compatible with everything I have.

I decided to take the plunge anyway...and to my joy, discovered that Signum were now editing most of their sculpts in two scales : 35mm and 28mm.

Pop the champagne and get an order in.

They are all beautiful sculpts, in high quality resin, 28mm scale, beautifully proportioned and a range of original figures (wacky ones too !) with interesting poses.  They generally need no or little assembly, and come without slottabases, which is a bonus as Signum also sell pre-textured bases they can stand on, ideal for someone like me who is not a great fan of basing.

Kina is based on a video game character, and I mostly kept to her iconic blue colour.  Although she is technically an "oriental" figure, I reckon she'll fit into the Andalucia 1166 project, perhaps as a gipsy dancer / assassin.
