Welcome / Bienvenu

This blog drags together, into one swirling maelstrom of crackling energy, my various wargames interests. There are links on the top right to my other blogs, each more calmly dedicated to one particular gaming universe.

I post on Fridays. The idea is that when I post a painted figure, it stays up for two weeks; a battle report, a terrain project, or a few lines on whatever happens to be the whim of the moment, is up for a week.

The pages at the top of the blog contain historical information on the periods that interest me. They are primarily an aid to my poor memory, and not meant to be in any way exhaustive, nor necessarily correct.

I hope this blog offers you much enjoyment and some inspiration !

Sweet but Psycho

As fervent followers of my blog know (yes, I'm talking to you two, over there at the back), I have a disturbing obsession sustained interest in Warrior Nuns.  Don't ask me why.  No really, don't  : )

I am not helped by all those fantastic Warrior Nun models out there (their prolific numbers do suggest I am not alone - group therapy anyone ?).

This one is from Raging Heroes Sci-Fi range, she is called "Double-Dose Misericordia".

I didn't paint her up as a nun per se, this is cyberpunk and anyone can be wearing anything.  Including thigh-high yellow latex shiny boots.

Oh dear.

I find painting black horrendously difficult, so I guess I must be a bit of a masochist (this truly is going from worse to, well, worser.  At least I shall be getting lots of visits from bots.  They'll be homing in on these dubious keywords like bears to honey, making my blog look like it is popular).

I don't really know if I am happy with it.  As black often does it came out looking a bit grey, but it does have a nice in-your-face cyberpunk flavour to it.  So I'll roll with it.

I also wanted to give her a beaten-up face, she has just knocked down the person who broke her nose, her eyes full of rage.

Next up on the sci-fi front, the fantastic Avicenna model from Infinity.  I'm going to try, for the very first time, some transparent effects on her 'cos, well, I didn't suffer enough painting black.  Before that however I'll be rolling out some figures for a new project with my youngest and one of my friends.
